- ➤ Descent of Dust and Shadows, a world-premiere fantasy horror from Young Artists Ensemble, began Jan. 9 at Theatre on the Hill at Hillcrest Center for the Arts and runs through Jan. 18 with 7:30 p.m. evening shows and 2 p.m. matinees (featuring young performers 13 to 19). Moorpark Acorn

- ➤ A Pepperdine University study finds that only 34% of homes lost in the 2018 Woolsey fire have been rebuilt by fiscal 2024, showing a slow recovery in the area.
