CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Reagan Library is showcasing a cowboy exhibit that tells real and Hollywood cowboy stories with over 400 artifacts. The exhibit, titled Cowboys (History and Hollywood), runs through April 19. Moorpark Acorn
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ventura County Office of Education opened its new accredited welding and testing facility on Dec. 17 at the Career Education Center at Camarillo Airport. The site now offers AWS certification and training for local students and veteran welders (bridging classroom learning and industrial careers). Moorpark Acorn
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, Jan. 19, public offices, post offices, libraries and schools will close for MLK Day while transportation still runs; state parks remain free while national parks now charge an entry fee. - ➤ Temporary staffing agency Man Staffing LLC was ordered on Friday to pay $650,000 for failing to provide workers' compensation insurance between 2017 and 2023 (including $500,000 in civil penalties and $150,000 in restitution) and must secure valid coverage to avoid further penalties. KEYT
