ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters fought a brush fire along Telegraph Road in Bardsdale east of Fillmore yesterday as the blaze grew to about half an acre with forecasts to reach 5 acres and winds of 10 to 15 mph, with 60 firefighters and two helicopters on scene.  Ventura County Star
  • Crews fought the Ranch Fire in hilly Bardsdale, east of Fillmore yesterday— a helicopter dropped water at 11:17 a.m. after the blaze began at 9:40 a.m. in light wind, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.  Ventura County Star

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Nékter Juice Bar opened in Oxnard Town Center on Jan. 23 with a ribbon-cutting event that featured employees and guests, marking its grand opening.  Ventura County Star

SPORTS NEWS

  • Dos Pueblos water polo team won a close 12-11 game over Marlborough in the CIF playoffs as Dev Wigo scored four goals and Malaya Coleman blocked seven. The team will host Agoura on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. while Reagan Mack’s status remains uncertain.  KEYT
