- ➤ California stargazers can view the bright center of our galaxy as Milky Way season begins. Although today's 90% full moon dims the view, Ventura locals will soon enjoy darker skies with a new moon (Mar. 18) improving chances to see billions of stars arching overhead. Ventura County Star
- ➤ A report from Wander predicts that California's nine national parks, including Channel Islands near our coast, will attract the second most visitors in 2026, trailing Tennessee. The prediction is based on past visitor data and the state's extensive hiking trails. Ventura County Star

- ➤ Rancho Sierra Senior Apartments opened on March 4 on Lewis Road near Camarillo as a new affordable senior housing option, and residents celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Ventura County Star
- ➤ A 50-unit affordable housing complex for seniors opened on Lewis Road near Camarillo. The $40m project partnered with Many Mansions and local agencies — reserving half its units for seniors who experienced chronic homelessness. Ventura County Star
