- ➤ Tomorrow, Mar. 8, viewers can see Venus + Saturn appear very close on the western horizon after sunset if skies are clear. No telescope is needed to enjoy this rare planetary meeting. Ventura County Star
- ➤ The Camarillo Wedding Expo is set for April 19 starting at 2 p.m. (with a Twilight Tour at 6:30 p.m.) across seven venues in Camarillo, Somis and Moorpark, where couples will tour outdoor wedding sites featuring live food, music and vendor displays. Moorpark Acorn
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At a recent Camarillo City Council meeting, Moorpark College President Julius Sokenu unveiled a new bachelor's in applied cyberdefense and network operations + built with defense experts to prepare graduates for specialized civilian roles at Naval Base Ventura County and to offer local families an affordable, NSA-recognized degree. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ventura Land Trust opened Ventura Hills Nature Preserve off Hall Canyon Road on March 5 and held a celebration for local residents above downtown and midtown neighborhoods. The preserve does not allow e-bikes. Ventura County Star
- ➤ Hipcamp has launched an interactive superbloom map (using data from over 150,000 iNaturalist observations) that pairs predicted wildflower hotspots with nearby campsites across California. Ventura residents can use the tool to plan trips as blooms appear from February through spring. Ventura County Star
