- ➤ The OakHeart Country Music Festival returns May 30 in Thousand Oaks, offering live music, dancing, vendors, and fun activities while raising funds for a kids’ foundation (limited to 4,000 tickets) after a seven-year hiatus. Thousand Oaks Acorn
- ➤ Oxnard’s Jess Ramirez, the Port of Hueneme Commissioner, has released his bilingual children's book, Little Drops of Water—based on his true migrant family journey and dedicated to his sister Toña. The book features both Spanish and English to showcase his family’s story. KEYT

- ➤ The Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency board voted on Feb. 18 to buy half an acre along South Ventu Park Road for $42,000 to expand protected land. The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority finalized 326-acre donation in Seminole Hot Springs that forms a wildlife corridor between preserves & parkland. Thousand Oaks Acorn
