- ➤ On April 30th, 2025, military veterans from Ventura enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime flight at Camarillo Airport through the Dream Flights program — they flew in a 1940s biplane and a World War II-era plane. Ventura County Star
- ➤ Federal cuts canceled more than 400 truckloads of food in the first three months of the year—eight were meant for Food Share, the region's main food bank. The food bank will rely on donations and grants as more families in Ventura face food insecurity. Thousand Oaks Acorn
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Racine man Kya Christian Nelson, 23, was sentenced to 44 months in federal prison for a nationwide swatting spree—using stolen Yahoo! and Ring credentials to livestream false emergencies at homes in West Covina and Oxnard. KEYT
- ➤ Ventura County District Attorney investigators said five more alleged victims have come forward against 42-year-old David Braff from Thousand Oaks, who is accused of molesting children at several jobs including Conejo Recreation and Park District (one victim was hurt from 2004 to 2005) and now faces extra felony counts with arraignment set for May 21 while he remains in jail with bail set at $3 million. - ➤ A Los Angeles County judge postponed the arraignment of 43-year-old Mario Edgardo Garcia-Aquino—accused of killing 13-year-old Oscar Omar Hernandez whose body was found in Oxnard on April 2—and he is expected to return to court on June 18. KEYT
