The 39th Annual California Strawberry Festival took place May 17th and May 18th at Ventura County Fairgrounds and featured games, activities, and food that celebrated strawberries.
Thousands of local families enjoyed the build-your-own strawberry shortcake experience, science shows, and refreshment booths during the event.

Nearly 1,500 students graduated in two ceremonies at CSU Channel Islands near Camarillo on May 17 — out of about 2,200 eligible students, the event marked a major education milestone.

8-month-old Syanne Landron, born in Ventura without the T cells needed to fight infections, will undergo a life-saving thymus implant procedure at Duke University after receiving approval in May.
