ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Authorities closed part of Los Angeles Avenue in Moorpark on May 27 after a bottle reportedly fell from a truck near an electrical substation and gas fumes from an unknown chemical were seen—Ventura County fire and sheriff's deputies secured the area without ordering evacuations.  Ventura County Star

CRIME NEWS

  • Detectives dismantled a local drug trafficking operation—seizing three pounds of meth, 850 grams of fentanyl, two firearms and money—and arrested a 35-year-old Oxnard man on May 22 with bail set at $250,000.  KEYT
  • Three Camarillo businesses were fined after an underage decoy test found they sold tobacco to a minor, with the tested businesses (Vons at 5275 Mission Oaks Boulevard, Mobil Gas at 4735 Pleasant Valley Road, and Chevron Gas at 522 Las Posas Road) caught by peace officers during an operation funded by a Tobacco Grant from the California Department of Justice.  KEYT
