  • Two Oxnard teenagers were charged with murder after they attacked Davy Glen Pichel outside St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on June 4, with security footage showing they stomped him and paramedics pronouncing him dead at 6:40 a.m. on June 5 — their arraignments will be held on June 24.  KEYT
  • Ventura Police arrested Christian Hillariet for the 2023 homicide of William Thompson after finding new evidence on June 5 — first responders had discovered Thompson’s body on November 5, 2023.  KEYT

  • The Ventura County Star marks its 100th anniversary with a series that reviews key moments in local history like its first edition in 1925 — events from major disasters to changes in community life.
