- ➤ Swedish furniture company IKEA introduced a new store format that offers Plan & order points with Pick-up to mix online and in-store shopping. - ➤ Ventura police released new details in a 2023 homicide after 25-year-old Christian Alexandre Hillairet was charged with two counts of murder on June 6 by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office — for killing an Ojai woman on May 31 and Ventura man William Thompson, 46, whose body was found on November 5 near railroad tracks. - ➤ Ventura County officials said Dustin Ronald Alba from Oxnard was convicted on nine felony counts of using force during sexual acts on five survivors between 2012 and 2020 in Thousand Oaks, Oxnard and Los Angeles—and he will appear in court on July 9 for sentencing, where he could face up to 111 years to life in prison. - ➤ Hundreds of Oxnard residents protested ICE detentions on Tuesday as local law enforcement and sheriff teams from Ventura and nearby counties said they are only helping Los Angeles police and will not join federal immigration operations — officials warned protests may grow more intense this weekend.
