A Ventura County jury awarded a total of $2 million to two hotel guests who suffered bed bug bites at The Shores Inn during their stay in February 2020.
The verdict gave Gutierrez $400,000 in compensatory damages, Sanchez $600,000 in compensatory damages, and 500,000 in punitive damages each, and the hotel will challenge the decision over allegations of juror misconduct.
🚨 Crime
Kevin Ray James of San Bernardino was sentenced on June 13 to 19 years to life in prison for the 1997 murder of Monica Leech during a bank robbery in Thousand Oaks—he pled guilty on May 16 and admitted using a firearm during the crime.
