- ➤ A 53-year-old Santa Paula resident lost her right arm after a palm tree fell on her at Golf N' Stuff in Ventura on Aug. 6—doctors amputated her arm after severe damage—and she is now recovering at Ventura County Medical Center. Ventura County Star
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ventura College, Oxnard College and Moorpark College welcomed students back on Aug. 11 for the Fall semester as part of the Ventura County Community College District, which now offers bachelor's degrees in select majors. Ventura College marked its 100th anniversary and Oxnard College celebrated its 50th while students bought books and checked financial aid—campus signs also assured students that 'everyone is welcome here except ICE.'
