On Aug. 5, officers responded to a choking emergency involving a 3-year-old boy; they used a LifeVac device (a tool to clear airways) to remove the obstruction, and he was taken to a hospital where he continued to recover as his mother thanked the responders.
Taylor Farms is recalling guacamole and dips in 26 states after salmonella was linked to jalapeños grown in Mexico, though products in California remain unaffected.
The company said it will no longer source these jalapeños as it reviews its food safety measures.
