CRIME NEWS

  • On Aug. 19, Fillmore deputies responded to a call about a stabbing on the 600 block of Ventura Street where a 36-year-old man was injured, and they later arrested a 35-year-old woman on probation who was seen boarding a bus in Santa Paula at 4:48 p.m.—she now faces charges of attempted murder and outstanding warrants.  KEYT
  • Veteran Cory Taylor Wright defrauded the U.S. Navy out of over $9 million by sending false invoices and rigging bids at Naval Base Ventura County+he has agreed to plead guilty to felony wire fraud and will help federal prosecutors in the coming weeks+.  KEYT
  • A 29-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for burglarizing the Ventura County Fairgrounds administrative building after a motion sensor alarm went off on August 18 at 11:32 p.m., with police finding a broken window and matching his distinctive clothing from security footage near Thompson Boulevard—he is now in custody at the county jail.  KEYT
