On September 10, 2025, a Thousand Oaks building inspector from Moorpark and an Oxnard man were charged with felony bribery for allegedly soliciting a bribe from a contractor in exchange for a building permit + the inspector was placed on administrative leave while the co-conspirator remains in custody with bail set at $20,000.

Cypress Point Apartments, a 268-unit complex in Ventura, sold for $100 million in August — the transaction finalized a major local real estate deal — and is located just south of Telephone Road and west of Victoria Avenue.
