- ➤ The Port of Hueneme hosted its 12th annual Banana Festival today — local performers including the Oxnard High School Marching Band and Folklorico dancers entertained visitors who sampled free bananas from Chiquita, Dole, and Del Monte and enjoyed banana treats. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ventura County Superior Court Judge Ryan Wright died of heart failure on Sept. 24 at Keck Hospital after battling heart issues that had placed him on a transplant list—he was known for his blunt manner and tireless work ethic from his days as a prosecutor through his time on the bench. Friends and colleagues remembered him as a direct advocate for justice who handled major cases with unwavering commitment. Ventura County Star
