- ➤ On September 23, almost all of the 270 union workers in Simi Valley voted to authorize a strike as contract talks stalled and they filed charges over unfair practices. They have not reached a new contract yet and the next bargaining session is unscheduled—city officials continue to work on a deal for fair wages and conditions. Ventura County Star
