  • Takeda Pharmaceutical held a ribbon-cutting on Oct 1 at its Thousand Oaks facility after spending $170 million to add 15,000 square feet of research and production space for Hunter Syndrome and to install a solar array that now powers one-third of the property—this expansion strengthens the local biotech sector.  Ventura County Star

HEALTH NEWS

  • Denice Lombard of Ventura, 71, received her father’s kidney in a 1967 transplant—making her one of the longest living kidney transplant recipients. Her father Ted died on Sept. 1 and she takes immunosuppressant pills to keep the kidney healthy.  Ventura County Star

SPORTS NEWS

  • San Marcos boys water polo beat Buena 10-7 in the Channel League game today. The Royals held the Bulldogs to 2 goals in the second half + goalie Titus Fernandez recorded 8 stops while Christian Yonker scored 3 goals as the team improved to 2-0 in league play.  KEYT
