  • SpaceX will launch its Falcon 9 rocket today from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 6 a.m. PT to deploy 28 Starlink satellites into orbit — Ventura residents can watch the launch from local sites such as Ventura Pier and San Buenaventura State Beach, though weather delays are possible.  Ventura County Star

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sequoia Middle School is launching an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program for students in grades six through 10 this school year—an effort that is part of a district plan to build an IB continuum from Cypress Elementary to Newbury Park High School. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Thousand Oaks officials are updating a 2025-27 legislative platform that focuses on state and federal issues such as transportation, water, open space, public safety and climate resilience—guiding local lobbying efforts in Sacramento and Washington.   • Bishop Diego won 43-16 over Camarillo in their Marmonte League opener — Tua Rojas threw four touchdown passes and Gabe Villa scored three as the Cardinals moved to 6-0. Carpinteria beat Santa Clara 55-6 in their Citrus Coast League game — Drew Filippini returned two punts for touchdowns.  KEYT
