GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Thousand Oaks City Council approved a fourth one-year extension for Caruso properties to buy the land for The Lakes and build up to 165 apartments by June 30 — the deal requires a $100,000 payment that will go to the city's homeless shelter. Mayor Newman dissented — arguing the deal may not be a good use of public funds, while other council members said the extension avoids the risk of losing future revenue. Ventura County Star
