➤ SpaceX will launch its Falcon 9 rocket today from Vandenberg Space Force Base to send 28 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit — local officials note that spectators in Ventura County, including at Ventura Pier and Emma Wood State Beach, can view the launch if weather permits. ➤ La Duquesa Bar & Dine opened on East Main Street on Oct 27 and Sips, a coffee, wine, beer and market business, opened on Johnson Drive on Oct 10 in Ventura. ➤ On Tuesday, Nov. 4, the Mega Millions drawing returned winning numbers 11, 14, 17, 50, 57 and Mega Ball 6 for an $800 million jackpot—after a previous win in Virginia on June 27 paid $348 million.
