  • Thanksgiving Day will offer mixed grocery options in Ventura as some chains close and others adjust their hours for last-minute shopping. Target, Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, and Trader Joe’s will be closed while Stater Bros. is open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.—with Vons, Albertsons, Ralph’s, Save Mart, FoodMaxx, Lucky, Whole Foods Market, and Sprouts Farmers Market offering limited hours.  Ventura County Star

  • San Marcos girls water polo beat Buena (20-8) to open their final season with coach Brian (Chuckie) Roth, who is stepping away to focus on his family and new coaching roles. The team will play in Ventura today while Roth continues teaching physical education and coaching at Santa Barbara City College and takes on a new role with the water polo club.  KEYT
