- ➤ SpaceX will launch its Falcon 9 rocket after midnight from Vandenberg Space Force Base today to deploy 27 Starlink satellites into orbit. Ventura residents can view the liftoff from nearby public sites (weather delays may affect the schedule). Ventura County Star
- ➤ Oxnard Police hosted their 10th annual holiday event on Dec. 8 with booths, photo stations, treats, live music and free photos with Santa, during which Aaron Disandro, 41, won a refurbished 2007 Toyota Corolla — a prize from the local nonprofit afterschool program partnering with Oxnard schools and police. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ California law allows drivers to wear earbuds or headphones if they are not used in both ears—a rule meant to reduce distractions on the road. Exceptions apply for emergency vehicle operators and workers using special safety devices. Ventura County Star
