About this event
Sitting with Cha Dao (the way of tea) is a meditative practice of presence where the ordinary act of brewing, preparing, and drinking tea becomes a sacred ritual. In this form of tea meditation, we cultivate awareness and awaken the heart-mind through three successive bowls of tea. The tea service is a time of slowing down to witness the mind and deepen our connection with the natural world—a practice held in noble silence and through deep listening.
To prepare for this deepening introspection and exploration of what it means to awaken the heart-mind, we will work with a seed thought selected from one of Meditation Mount’s corresponding Principles and Pathways. This seed thought anchors our practice and invites us into a deeper level of awareness throughout the ceremony.
We provide everything for your comfort, including back jacks, blankets, and water, so you can fully settle into this practice.
Following the ceremony, you are invited to continue this contemplative experience by spending time in our gardens, creating space for personal reflection and integration.
We look forward to sitting with you for tea!
*Please note: This event features traditional Chinese and Japanese tea leaves, which contain caffeine. Non-caffeinated tea can be substituted if needed for private group sessions only.
