The Oxnard Animal Safety Unit got reports of the dogs, and Dog Days Search & Rescue helped with the removal. The county says the pack likely began as a few dumped dogs and grew as people fed them. Only one had a microchip.

- Before adoption: spay or neuter, vaccines, flea treatment, microchip
- Recent win: three large dogs adopted after more than 200 days
The agency says the dogs aren't at risk of euthanasia simply for entering the shelter. It describes them as mostly healthy but “scared,” needing “patience, time and love.”
